2022 was one hell of a year. For some, it was enlightening. For others, it was a nightmare. For me, it was a mix of both. Ultimately, it led to my very first diagnosis — Manic Depression.

For those of you who don’t know, manic depression causes restlessness, racing thoughts, increased energy, insomnia, massive moodswings, and an inability to find passion or purpose in anything life has to offer. Ultimately, I was passively suicidal.

I hope that my story can shed light on the importance of mental health for both women and men.

My 2022 — A Living Nightmare

I was attacked in January, but the role was flipped, and I’ve been claiming self-defense ever since then. For some reason, my word versus his never seems to play out well in court.

In April, my wife of 8 years tried to kill me. I won’t go to into detail. A lot of it had to do with postpartum depression and a variety of other mental-health disorders. But it happened.

Since then, we found out she was pregnant with twins. They were delivered early at just 2 lbs. We fought long and hard, spending months in the NICU with our daughters. Ultimately, we were forced to come to a hard decision and gave our babies…
